Cruel to stop govt use of face recognition tech: Microsoft Prez

Microsoft President Brad Smith in an interview said a sweeping ban on all government use of facial recognition technology "risks being cruel in its humanitarian effect". He added researchers used the technology to find rare, genetic disease in Africans, Asians and Latin Americans. "Why should we stop a government from helping identify patients who need medical care?" he further said.
