Cryptocurrency exchange Zipmex files for bankruptcy protection

Zipmex, the Southeast Asia-focused cryptocurrency exchange, filed for bankruptcy protection in Singapore, the company said. The solicitors of the Singapore-based cryptocurrency exchange had last week submitted five applications seeking moratoriums to prohibit legal proceedings for up to six months. Notably, Zipmex also resumed withdrawals last week, a day after suspending them on July 20.
