CSK's 20-yr-old Pathirana makes his ODI debut for Sri Lanka

Fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana made his ODI debut for Sri Lanka in the first ODI of the three-match series against Afghanistan today. The 20-year-old, who played for CSK in the recently-concluded IPL season, has a bowling action similar to the way Lasith Malinga used to bowl. Pathirana picked 19 wickets in 12 games in IPL 2023.
