Customs duty on goods for personal use slashed from 20% to 10%

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, during her Union Budget 2026 speech, announced that customs duty on goods imported for personal use has been slashed from 20% to 10%. The Finance Minister also proposed to exempt duty on aviation components and parts. It was Sitharaman's ninth consecutive Union Budget presentation.
