Cutting down smoking could increase men's life expectancy by 1 year: Study

Reducing tobacco smoking to 5% of current rates by 2050 would result in one year of additional life expectancy in males and 0.2 years in females, according to a new study. If smoking was eliminated in 2023, researchers said this could result in up to 1.5 additional years of life expectancy among males and 0.4 years among females in 2050.
