CWG gold medallist Asmita's ₹1.5 cr reward by UP govt in doubt over Tripura roots

Indian judoka Asmita Dey's eligibility for Uttar Pradesh government's ₹1.5 crore cash reward for winning gold in the women's 48kg final at Commonwealth Games 2026 has come under debate as her permanent roots are in Tripura. Notably, she fulfils one of the three eligibility conditions set by government in 2024, having represented UP in international sporting events.
