CWG silver medallist Rishikanta once worked as labourer, made ₹200 a day

Indian weightlifter Chanambam Rishikanta Singh, who won silver medal at Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2026, once worked as a daily wage labourer earning between ₹150 and ₹200 a day. He noted all of the money went to supporting his brother adding, "Even if I wasn't supporting [him], it's not possible to get good diet with milk and eggs at ₹200/day."
