Cyclone Fengal to make landfall between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram today

The IMD has predicted the cyclonic storm Fengal will move west-northwestwards and cross north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram on Saturday afternoon. The storm is expected to have a wind speed of 70-80 kmph gusting to 90 kmph. Schools and colleges have been shut in Chennai, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur, Cuddalore, Villupuram in Tamil Nadu and in Puducherry.
