Daily 9pm-5am blackout announced in Punjab's Gurdaspur amid India-Pak tensions

Amid the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Deputy Commissioner of Punjab's Gurdaspur has ordered a complete district-wide blackout from 9pm to 5am. The order will remain in effect until further notice. Hospitals and the central jail are exempt but have been asked to keep windows and doors shut. Gurdaspur is the first border district to enforce such blackout.
