Daily Mumbai local train services increased to avoid overcrowding

The Western Railway (WR) has decided to increase the number of daily suburban train services in Mumbai from the present 350 to 500 from Monday (September 21). This decision was made to maintain social distancing among passengers and avoid overcrowding in trains, WR chief PRO, Sumit Thakur said. Suburban trains are currently operating only for essential workers.
