Damen launches first electric SOV that can charge offshore

Damen has unveiled the SOV 7017 E, the largest fully electric Service Operations Vessel (SOV) for offshore wind farm maintenance. The company is aiming to charge the batteries direct from a wind turbine. With its offshore charging capabilities, the new 70-meter-long electric vessel paves the way for significantly reduced emissions in the maintenance of offshore wind farms.
