Data on vaccine efficacy against Omicron limited, no proof vaccines won't work: Centre

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Tuesday said that there is no evidence to suggest existing COVID-19 vaccines being used in the vaccination drive don't work against the Omicron variant. He added, "There are limited available data, and no peer-reviewed evidence, on vaccine efficacy or effectiveness to date for Omicron." India has over 200 cases of the new variant.
