Dawoodi Bohra community seek complete exclusion from Waqf Act
The Dawoodi Bohra community has urged the joint parliamentary committee to exempt them entirely from the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, asserting their distinct status within the Muslim community. They emphasised that, as a "small and tightly-knit" group, they don't require the same regulation applicable to other denominations. It's first time any Muslim sect has sought exemption from the proposed law.
