Days after announcing shutdown, Kik says app 'here to stay'

Days after announcing that it was shutting down its instant messaging app, Kik has announced that the app "is here to stay". Kik Interactive's CEO Ted Livingston made the shutdown announcement last month amid its legal dispute with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) over its cryptocurrency 'Kin'. The app was supposed to fully shut down on October 19.
