Dead turtles wash up on S Lanka beach, underwater blast suspected

Around 20 turtle carcasses have washed up on the beach between Negombo and Kalutara in Sri Lanka, local media reported. Commenting on the incident, the Sri Lankan Wildlife Department said the turtles might have died as a result of an undersea explosion. The Colombo Fort Magistrate has ordered the wildlife department to conduct post-mortem investigations of the dead turtles.
