Dearness Allowance hiked by 1% for central govt employees

The Union Cabinet on Tuesday approved a 1% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) to central government employees and pensioners, with effect from July 1, 2017. The hike in DA from 4% to 5% is based on the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission. It is expected to benefit over 49 lakh Central government employees and over 61 lakh pensioners.
