'Death drag' of 150-mn-year-old marine fossil put online
European researchers have put online a digitised 3D model of the "death drag" of an ammonite fossil. A death drag is a mark left behind by a creature that died and was dragged by force. The creature here belongs to the ammonites species, an extinct group of marine mollusc (octopus family) animals which lived around 150 million years ago.
