Death toll crosses 800 after earthquake hits Afghanistan

Over 800 people were killed after an earthquake of 6.3 magnitude struck eastern Afghanistan on Monday, Reuters reported, citing the Taliban-run Afghan interior ministry spokesperson. Over 1,500 people were injured. Authorities said three villages were razed in Kunar. "So far, no foreign governments have reached out to provide support for rescue or relief work," a foreign office spokesperson said.
