Defence aviation, nuclear sectors get customs duty relief

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced basic customs duty exemptions on components required for the manufacture of aircraft used in the defence sector and civilian and training aircraft. The customs duty exemptions on the import of goods needed for Nuclear Power Projects were extended till 2035. Capital goods imported for processing critical minerals are also exempted from customs duty.
