Defence ministry approves 250 MW solar project in UP's Sitapur

Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday approved the construction of a 250 MW solar power project on defence land in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur. The project will be developed across about 850 acres of vacant defence land with a battery energy storage system (BESS). This will be the first large-scale solar power project to be established on defence land.
