Defence secretary Rajesh Singh gets 1-year extension until Oct 2027

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved a one-year extension for Defence Secretary Rajesh Singh. Singh will continue in the post until October 31, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. His current tenure was scheduled to end on October 31. Rajesh has been given extension due to his work in promoting "Aatmanirbhar Bharat" in the defence sector.
