Deglobalisation is forcing India back to its own oil wells

As energy supply chains fragment, India is turning inward. With overseas assets exposed to geopolitics, the focus is shifting to deep and ultra-deep offshore drilling at home. It is expensive, uncertain and slow, but policymakers see domestic oil and gas as insurance against a world where energy flows are no longer guaranteed.
