Delhi BJP's 1st woman mayor Shakuntala Arya dies at 98

Delhi BJP's first woman mayor and former Mahila Morcha president Shakuntala Arya died at the age of 98 on Saturday, the Delhi BJP said. A resident of South Delhi's Lajpat Nagar, Arya served as mayor during the 1997-98 term. Condoling her demise, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said, "May God grant the departed soul a place at his holy feet."
