Delhi court releases husband jailed for failing to pay maintenance

A Delhi Sessions Court ordered the release of a man who was sent to jail by a Mahila court for failing to pay maintenance to his estranged wife. "While passing the orders, courts cannot forget or ignore the purpose of adjudication," observed the court. The husband's lawyer submitted to deposit ₹1 lakh in the bank account of the woman.
