The Delhi government on Monday announced the City Taxi scheme, a new scheme under which all cars with engines of up to 600cc can be registered as taxis. These small cars will charge Rs 10 per kilometre, and will be equipped with a panic button for the purpose of safety. Auto rickshaws in the state charge Rs 8.5 per kilometre.
