Delhi HC dismisses plea seeking to stop using EVMs, fines ₹10,000
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday dismissed a lawyer's petition that sought directions for the Election Commission to stop using EVMs for polls and fined him ₹10,000. The bench called the plea "publicity interest litigation" and said it was based on baseless allegations. The petitioner, CR Jaya Sukin, argued that "democracy was in danger" as EVMs can be "hacked".
