Delhi HC orders govt to pay journalist ₹11.83 lakh for wife's treatment

The Delhi High Court directed the Delhi Government to reimburse journalist Ravinder Gupta ₹11.83 lakh for his wife's treatment at private hospitals in August 2021. The court ruled that converting government hospitals into Covid-19 facilities cannot justify denying reimbursement, setting aside the Health Department's July 2025 rejection order. Payment must be made within eight weeks.
