Delhi may cut MRP on UK liquor after duty reduction

Delhi Excise Department has directed wholesale liquor licence holders to apply for MRP revision of UK-imported liquor brands after India-UK CETA reduced customs duty from 150% to 75%, effective July 15. The revised duty includes 25% Basic Customs Duty and 50% Agriculture Cess. Final price decision awaits appointment of a new excise commissioner.
