Delhi may make smoke detectors, extinguishers mandatory at homes

The Delhi government is considering making fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and hydrants mandatory in homes and residential colonies, Minister Ashish Sood said. Currently, Delhi only mandates fire hydrants and smoke detectors for high-rise buildings with a height of 15 meters or above. This comes after a fire killed 23 people at a hotel in Delhi's Malviya Nagar last week.
