Delhi's early Census data hints India's population could be way higher: Report

Early Census 2027 data show that Delhi's population reached 23.08 million, an 0.6% overshoot from official projections. With this in mind, national estimates could be undershooting actual numbers by nearly 1%, reported Moneycontrol. If a similar gap exists at the national level, India's population could be closer to 1.45 billion, around 14 million higher than the government's previous projections.
