Delhi’s forest cover shrinks slightly, still tops mega cities

Delhi remains India's greenest mega city despite a minor reduction of 0.08 sq km in forest cover from 2021 to 2023, according to the State of Forest Report. The city holds 195.28 sq km of forest cover, making up 13.17% of its area. Other cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru follow, with Ahmedabad seeing the largest increase in green space.
