Delhi teen builds AI-powered waste-sorting robot with 90% accuracy

A 17-year-old girl from Delhi, Mahi Malhani, has developed TRASHbot, an AI-powered robot that sorts waste accurately in 90% of cases. The robot can be controlled through an app or can operate autonomously and uses ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles with 98% success. Mahi was inspired to build the robot when she noticed litter during a trip in 2023.
