Dengue cases fell drastically during COVID lockdown: Lancet study

Dengue cases across the globe fell drastically during the COVID-19 lockdown, a Lancet study has found. The study estimated that 7,20,000 fewer dengue cases were reported worldwide in 2020 as public places were shut following the restrictions imposed by government and local authorities to contain the spread of coronavirus. The data was collected from 23 countries spanning dengue-endemic regions.
