Deshauna Barber, a 26-year-old Army Reserve lieutenant from the District of Columbia, has become the first military personnel to be crowned Miss USA by winning the pageant this year. After winning the title, Barber said that she is planning to take a break from the Army Reserves and has already discussed with superiors about going inactive for a few years.
