Detention in Myanmar was 'hell', says Japanese filmmaker

Japanese filmmaker Toru Kubota, who was jailed for nearly four months in Myanmar, said he understood the "concept of hell" while he was detained in a prison. Kubota said he could barely lie down to sleep in the "filthy", "unsanitary" tiny crowded cell and had witnessed other detainees being beaten with batons. Kubota was later transferred to solitary confinement.
