Deutsche Telekom & T-Mobile planning world's largest merger to create $300-bn telecom giant

Germany's Deutsche Telekom and US' T-Mobile are planning a possible tie-up to create a $300-billion telecom giant in what would be the world's largest-ever merger, Reuters reported. Deutsche already controls 53% of T-Mobile, with the deal likely to bring both companies under one entity. The potential deal would overtake Vodafone-Mannesmann's $203-billion merger that took place in 1999.
