Devaki Amma, who planted over 3,000 trees in Kerala awarded Padma Shri
Devaki Amma G, who planted over 3,000 trees in Kerala's Alappuzha , was awarded Padma Shri by President Droupadi Murmu on Monday for her extraordinary contribution to environmental conservation. The 91-year-old transformed barren land in Alappuzha into a forest through decades of dedication and care. The forest has many medicinal and rare plants which now host some rare bird species.
