Device that uses 'arterial age' for early heart-risk screening developed
IIT Madras researchers developed a non-invasive device, ARTSENS, that assesses arterial stiffness and central blood pressure in about five minutes. The device can support early cardiovascular-risk screening by indicating how old or stiff your arteries are relative to your chronological age. ARTSENS uses pressure cuffs and a probe applied to the surface of the neck to detect the carotid artery.
