DGCA records 889 serious technical defects in flights in 2025
India's aviation regulator DGCA recorded 889 serious technical defects in flights last year, up from 692 in 2024, official data showed. Such defects stood at 487 in 2023, 528 in 2022 and 514 in 2021. DGCA also took action in 42 safety-violation cases involving airlines and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) firms, up from 31 in 2024.
