Dharavi packs 10 times Mumbai's population density: Bhide, IAS
BMC Commissioner Ashwini Bhide said on the podcast that Dharavi holds 2.5-3 lakh people per square kilometre against Mumbai's average of around 25,000, itself among the world's highest, making it a heat-generating zone. BMC's heat maps flag five traffic hotspots, including the Western and Eastern Express Highways and JVLR, where density is high and greenery scarce.
