Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma called the return of Dhole, or wild dog, to the Kaziranga-Karbi Anglong landscape a significant conservation achievement. "From a lone camera trap image in 2022 to direct sightings and now confirmation of a pack in 2026, this is a powerful story of revival," he said. "The Dhole's return is a cause for celebration," he added.
