Diabetes raises infection, clot risk after knee surgery: Study

A study by Indian researchers reveals that diabetes significantly raises the risk of infections and blood clots after total knee replacement surgery. Diabetics face a 43% higher risk of joint infection and 45% increased risk of blood clots. Insulin-treated patients had 60% more perioperative complications, worsening surgical outcomes and recovery.
