Diamonds worth ₹48 lakh seized from Sharjah passenger at Pune airport
Customs officials at the Pune International Airport have seized 3,000 round brilliant cut and baguette diamonds worth ₹48.66 lakh from a man who arrived from Sharjah. The diamonds were allegedly concealed in pouches in a pair of trousers packed in his baggage. "The diamonds attempted to smuggle into India were seized under Customs Act,1962," Yashodhan Wanage, Commissioner, CGST, Pune said.
