Didn't know it's old: Man who carved 'Ivan+Hayley' on 2,000-yr-old Colosseum

Ivan Dimitrov, a 27-year-old British tourist who carved 'Ivan + Hayley 23' on Rome's 2,000-year-old Colosseum, claimed that he didn't know how old the structure was. "Only after what regrettably happened did I learn of the antiquity of the monument," he said in his apology. He faces a fine of up to $15,000 and five years in prison.
