Digital gold sales grow 3x in 1st 6 months of 2026, hit ₹17,633 cr

Digital gold sales more than tripled year-on-year in the first half of 2026, with UPI transactions reaching ₹17,633 crore, according to NPCI data. Over 90% of purchases were made through UPI despite gold prices falling more than 25%. The half-year sales were also 21% higher than the ₹14,549 crore recorded in all of 2025.
