Digital map challenges 'wasteland' policy on grasslands

The ONE Maps explorer, launched using satellite imagery, provides high-resolution data to counter the belief that India's grasslands are unproductive. These biomes cover 10% of India, are vital for endangered species support 13 million pastoralists, and store crucial carbon underground. The map aims to guide policy and prevent the destruction of these habitats by afforestation or energy projects.
