Digvijaya Singh says 'Hindu' is a Persian word, not found in Vedas; sparks row

Congress leader Digvijaya Singh sparked a row after saying the word 'Hindu' is Persian and does not appear in the Vedas, Upanishads or Puranas. Singh said people now speak of Sanatan Dharma and accused the RSS and VHP of distorting it. BJP leader Vishvas Sarang criticised the remarks and demanded legal action.
