Dinosaur eggs with crystal formation discovered in China's Anhui
Paleontologists in eastern China have discovered 2 fossilized dinosaur eggs, each resembling a cannonball, in red sandstone layers of the Upper Cretaceous Chishan Formation in Anhui Province. Upon examination, researchers found hollow cavities lined with calcite crystals instead of bones. This finding has led to identification of a new oospecies marking a significant addition to the fossil record.
