Director Jeethu Joseph reveals why Mammootty rejected 'Drishyam'

Before Mohanlal starred in Drishyam, director Jeethu Joseph had narrated the story to Mammootty. Contrary to popular belief, he did not reject the film because of the script. Jeethu later revealed that the actor was already doing several family-oriented roles and wanted to avoid repeating similar characters. Mammootty even supported the project later by encouraging actress Meena to join.
