Director Ranjith's lawyer quits ahead of sexual assault case trial

Director Ranjith Balakrishnan's lawyer, Mohammed Siyad, has quit the sexual assault case ahead of the hearing. This comes after Siyad faced backlash for also being a member of Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) for the film, during which the incident occurred. Siyad's resignation came hours after he filed a bail plea, which claimed that the actress had alleged harassment over disagreements.
